In contrast to simple tenses, perfect tenses are compound tenses using the auxiliary verb haber. Each simple tense has a perfect-tense counterpart. These are:

Indicative

  • Pluperfect (simple counterpart: Imperfect)
  • Preterite Perfect
  • Future Perfect

Conditional

  • Conditional Perfect

Subjunctive

  • Present Perfect
  • Pluperfect
